Originally released in December 2012, the Google map application is now available in its advanced version 1.1 in the
App Store as a free update.
Some of the major changes that you are going to get in this updated version of Google maps include –
1. New Local Search Icons – to speed up the search process, Google has added icons for local searches. For instance, if you are looking for a coffee shop in town, then you can simply click on the coffee icon and locate the shops.
2. More Countries – Google has added 7 more countries in this English version of Google maps. The list of countries includes UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
3. Integrated Google Contacts – this latest version comes with integrated Google Contacts. You can tap the name of the contacts to get the address, while signed in.
